At Home Services

Home is where the heart is.

And that is why we provide many in-home services to help assist with your pet. Some pets, particularly senior pets & pets with life limiting diseases increasingly have difficulty going to the veterinary clinic or groomer. While they will always need to be seen by a veterinarian for diagnosis, medications and surgeries, we are here to bridge the care between your veterinarian's care and the care you give at home.

Consultations & Animal Hospice Services

Is it difficult to get your pet to the veterinarian's office just for a nail trim? Would your pet benefit from having routine maintenance care or minimal treatments done at home where they are most comfortable?

Do you have a pet that was recently diagnosed with a life-limiting condition or chronic disease?  Do you find it difficult to administer treatments or find your pet's treatments overwhelming?

Do you have a pet that was recently diagnosed with a terminal disease? Is your pet becoming difficult to give medications and treatments to? Is thinking about your older pets medical challenges stressing you out?

Why hire an Licensed Veterinary Technician(LVT) for in-home services?
  • Licensed. Licensed Veterinary Technicians go through extensive schooling and national examination in order to become licensed to practice within the state. With our training and experience, you can be rest assured that you and your pet are in capable and knowledgeable hands.

  • Registered. Compassionate Pet Care of the Upper Peninsula is a legitimate business that is registered with the state.

  • Insured. Compassionate Pet Care is also insured in the unlikely event that something happens during one of our visits.

  • Convenient. We come to you when it is convenient for your schedule.

  • Efficient. Multiple pets can be taken care of at the same appointment time.

  • Stress Free! Pets are much more likely to be relaxed and comfortable at home which means they aren't as stressed as  going somewhere. Less stress for you and less stress for them.

  • More Accurate Minor Test Results. Because going to the vet clinic can be a scary thing for many pets, their test results may not be as accurate as they could be with an in-home visit.

What Compassionate Pet Care Is Not & Cannot Do

We are NOT a replacement for your veterinarian. We bridge the care between your veterinarian and the care you provide at home. LVTs legally CANNOT diagnose, prescribe, perform surgery or independently euthanize a pet. Those services all need to be performed by a licensed veterinarian.

We are NOT groomers. We can trim up hair for medical reasons or to tidy up between your normal grooming appointments. Please note that these types of trims are for functionality and not for aesthetics (in other words, it may not be pretty). Your groomer is trained to make your pet clean, comfortable AND pretty. We are happy to leave the "pretty" part to them.

What People Say

"I had Jessi come into my home to do an initial consultation with me and my dog, Jacob Eddie (JE). She was patient, kind, and thorough. She brought a wealth of information with her, which has been helpful in caring for JE in the twilight of his life. He’s usually pretty nervous at the vet, but Jessi was able to do a blood draw in the comfort of home for him and drop it off at our regular vet office. She followed up after our initial visit to see how things were going, and I plan to call on her again as needed for JE. I highly recommend Jessi’s services – they are a great resource for pets (and their people) in the area!"

Christine Larson

"I am really impressed with your notes & level of care! You are really professional yet compassionate."
